Glenhaven Retirement Centre

Officially opened in Saturday 27 April 1985. It was planned and founded by the Central Baptist Church Welfare Association (CEBACWAS).

It lies on the border of Faerie Glen and Garsfontein and is very close to amenities such as the Faerie Glen medical centre, post office, police station and five shopping areas.

It offers tranquil, high quality and affordable accommodation for 165 residents in a variety of housing facilities including 1, 2 or 3 bedroom cottages and flats. Units are sold on a “life-rights” basis without a profiteering motive.

For residents requiring 24-hour care, the on-site Ken Droste Care Unit offers first-class care facilities for up 60 residents with more rooms planned for the not too distant future.

Residents can enjoy balanced meals in the restaurant with morning and afternoon tea served. For further convenience a hairdresser, laundry, library, billiard room, on site church services, shuttle services to shops, regular entertainment, foot care, physiotherapy, doctor’s consulting room and spiritual support are available on site.

In spite of many more elaborate and expensive centres built around Pretoria in recent years, Glenhaven continues to receive the accolade as the retirement centre of choice as indicated by the readers of “Pretoria News” newspaper for a number of years.

Rosendal Retirement Centre

This facility, which is also a member of CEBACWAS, is not an old-age home – it is a hotel for senior citizens! Everything is provided in this 7 storey centre with its penthouse overlooking the Union Buildings, 32 single bedroom flats, 48 bed-sitters of varied sizes and a 20 bed care facilities for those requiring 24hour frail care.

Imagine having three nutritious meals provided, 24hour security, free shuttle services to the shops, an on-site hairdresser, onsite church services, laundry services, and regular entertainment and outings arranged.
